Retrace le parcours de la première réalisatrice de l'histoire du cinéma. Sortant son premier film, La fée aux choux, pour Louis Gaumont dès 1896, elle dirige plus de 300 films en France avant de rejoindre les Etats-Unis en 1907, laissant les Films Gaumont à son assistant L. Feuillade. Elle décède en 1969 sans avoir revu aucun de ses films.
